      This.. Plus organic pigments such as reds and blues are the worst in terms of color retention. Whites & blacks are the best. Seeing as your car has faded that means lots of sun exposure. You could indeed have the code wrong, so another check would be to take out the rear seat or pull back some of the carpeting in the trunk and compare the color there against the sample you have, don't always trust the door jambs. At this point it's best to evaluate the point & value of the car to you. My opinion is that you respray the whole car, otherwise you're going to end up with two types of paint chemistry on there and they're not going to fade the same way. Sikkens, PPG, DuPont or BASF are all solid suppliers IMO since those guys supply the OEMS.

              Let us know if you find the code closer to the car's color. I'm thinking about that color for the sides of my white mgm, with tan interior, for a two tone effect like I've seen on a few cv's.
              1987 Grand Marquis LS two door, trying to get to the 60,000 mile mark.
