    Nice find!
I have never experienced the excitement of finding a NOS piece for my cars. Found some nice stuff in the junkyards, but never something as nice as NOS.
1990 MGM: $50 E7 heads, HO cam, Holley SysteMAX lower intake, HO upper intake with an Explorer TB. LSC ECM. Lincoln logs into stock dual exhaust. K&N drop in air filter. Wide ratio AOD, 2400 converter with a 3.08 one tire fire out back. Car is less slow now. Then there's the '92 Beater. Dual 2.25" exhaust with shiny tips. Rumbles nice. Super slow. Burns oil too.

Beautiful center piece. Did you see one for a 89 TC ?

When I saw the title of the thread, I half expected to open it up and see some well proportioned derrieres, not necessarily of SFW variety. But, anyways, very nice looking trim! I think this was a nice change from the 85-87 trim piece. I'm not too fond of that on my car.

Town Car newb here. Is it a NOS piece for your model year or is this something you put onto your vehicle from another year. I just don't know.

87gtVIC, it looks like a piece for a 1988 Town Car.

Speaking of those, it would be nice to have a NOS piece for my 89. Mine is in decent shape but the pinstripes are peeling off.

yeah, thats the 88 trim. There is a lot of goofy one-year stuff on these cars that isn't really obvious unless you've spent too much time with them. On the surface a lot of that stuff looks the same, but its different enough year to year in some cases that the true nerds can tell.

Very nice! Yes one year only piece. Probably the only other difference between an 88 and an 89. The other is the amber front signal lights.

the grille is 88-specific too. The 89 grille has the chunky Lincoln badge in it, the 88 has no badge. The headlamp bezels are 89 specific, the window between the lights is black on an 89 and its clear on all other years.

If you want to get even more in depth, the interior woodgrain pattern in an '88 is ever so slightly different than in an '89. The pattern in an '88 is more horizontal looking. I also think '89 only got the Lincoln star logo in the opera window glass.

Yes, Gadget forgot about the grill, the headlight bezels is a new one.

as for the wood grain, always thought 85-87 then 88-89 were the same.

85-87 are the same, although early 85's had the black dash panels on the lower part of the dash:

No shit. I wonder what ford had to go through, just to change the grain for one year? lol. Like gadget said, lincolns are crazy for one year only parts. Even my '97 town car is odd ball, for missing stuff that the previous years had.
