    window/door interchange?

would the rear drivers side door from an 87 town car fit my 89 grand marquis? if not, how about just the glass? i have a shot at getting it pretty cheap if it'll work. thanks guys in advance.

I think the entire shape of the door is different. The Grand Marquis doors have more of a slant to the fixed portion of the window. The Townies' are more vertical.

crap, so in that case, what would fit 89 marquis?

I think any door from a '79-'91 Grand Marquis should fit dimension-wise. I'm pretty sure that Crown Vic doors from the same years would work too, since both cars share the same wheelbase. Although even after the doors are fitted, it may not look right if the trim and body lines of the door doesn't match up with the rest of the car. Wiring harnesses could also be different between years too, and that may mean splicing wires or rerouting stuff, which is time consuming and never fun. I'd honestly look for a door off of an '88-'91, that's your best bet if you want something to fit just like it should with no extra bs.

Vic and Grand Marquis doors and most of the other body parts are the same. Lincoln parts are Lincoln parts.

for a direct bolt-on match due to exterior trim... use 88-91 Grand Marquis.
