While I was waiting for the supplies to get here I FINALLY pulled off my d-side header and fixed the leak -
The stock bbk gasket has pretty much disintegrated and was shit, so not a real surprise here.
Leak from the back.. I've known what it was, where it was, and how to fix it. Was just a pain in the ass lol.
I was 100% certain they were not warped.. completely new exhaust system, not even two year old headers. Real low impact.
And just like that it was fixed! I went with Percy's seal 4 good gasket and some high temp orange RTV (which is what I used for the headers prior and the pass side is perfect). I couldn't really believe how bad the leak was until it got patched up, my car is like a mouse now compared to what it was! For anyone who does this, the side with the impression (outer walls sticking out) goes on the head, while the smooth beveled side goes on the header/manifold. I know its silly but I wanted to make sure I got it right and called the company.
I should have her fully wrapped by Monday or Tuesday...1991 Grand Marquis LS blog- Mayhem; two 12" Kenwood 800w subs, True dual catback, BBK shorties, cherrybombs, steel top, L/H hella lights, 18" AR Torq thrust, Trans cooler, class 3 hitch kit, more on the way...

This looks fucking killer, I love it. X2 on leaving the wheel well chrome off, unless you want to go for the matte/chrome mix, which may look good. Just don't put a crystal heart on the rear 1/4.2020 F250 - 7.3 4x4 CCSB STX 3.55's - BAKFlip MX4

Anyways, the primer finally came in!!!!!!!!!!!!! (Also I may or may not have been snowboarding) -
I just love that ass
For future people who will be looking at this thread or those of you who wrap, I did do the roof in two pieces, and the rear with the 'arches' in one piece. I regret one thing on this wrap and it was doing the courtesy lamp pillar thingies (between the two windows) with a separate piece... the pass side left a really weird seam. Do it in one piece, its a 110"x60 panel and its plenty!
Front bumper and lower trim is all that's left. And of course its missing some trim that still needs to be painted, like the rear windshield.
I'm thinking I'll leave most of the chrome trim on the doors except for the piece directly under the windows I will wrap matte black. I really love the way the chrome looks on the tail lights and loops around to the top piece on the back of the trunk, totally leaving that. I really love the way it is turning out, most people don't even recognize it and today I got a crowd of people up to it while I was in the gym. Can you say advertisement haha
I also have the meter4it sequential tail light kit sitting on my desk... :p1991 Grand Marquis LS blog- Mayhem; two 12" Kenwood 800w subs, True dual catback, BBK shorties, cherrybombs, steel top, L/H hella lights, 18" AR Torq thrust, Trans cooler, class 3 hitch kit, more on the way...

I think the chrome will be a nice contrast, better than the typical over played "murdered out" look.2020 F250 - 7.3 4x4 CCSB STX 3.55's - BAKFlip MX4

Very nice job. Looks great! I’ve been looking into Wraps and Plasti Dips. I won’t be ready for either one for a while. Good to see what a box would look like with a wrap. If you don’t mind some gee wiz questions:
Is a torch better than a heat gun?
For the size of our vehicles, how much wrap do we need? How much extra for mistakes?
Those of us that don’t do many cars (like only just doing my own) how much does a full car wrap cost?

I'd rather be a failure at something I love than a success at something I hate.

1. A torch definitely. Its easy, cheaper, portable, cordless, and won't have issues (it also won't burn you as easily). The only possible slight advantage of a heat gun is that it won't gloss the vinyl as easily (I have had one gloss spot on my car so far). I've also heard in extremely cold weather, if you use a torch on glass it can shatter it. I've never had that problem, but you shouldn't be installing in anything under 60 degree's F anyways.
2. 55 ft and of course its always 3' wide. That left an extra 110x60 panel for me and a lot of scrap, but I am extremely productive. 55' should be fine.
3. I got my role for $450 free shipping on Ebay. As long as its the correct vinyl (I'm using 3M's 1080 series matte black) just find the lowest price. That's matte black though, if you wanted say Oracal's Midnight blue metallic it would be like $1250 in materials. That's because its fully laminated and guaranteed to last longer.1991 Grand Marquis LS blog- Mayhem; two 12" Kenwood 800w subs, True dual catback, BBK shorties, cherrybombs, steel top, L/H hella lights, 18" AR Torq thrust, Trans cooler, class 3 hitch kit, more on the way...

Finished~
Finally finished today, did the front bumper in one piece, got the rear windshield trim painted and back on, and the lower trim wrapped and finished. Pics -
This little emblem sucks, I forgot the top port is larger than the oval at the bottom so I cut the first panel too big.. gg first panel. Had to redo it.
Definitely up in the top five of the worst bumpers to wrap.
Got it to look pretty clean.
Kinda dirty, didn't have time to go through and clean it up.
Lower trim.
So that's about it, besides replacing the window trim I bent up, its all done! I'm very happy with the results, its perfect for me because I can keep her looking nice while I do the real work (engine, rear end, tranny, and so on) and if I bang something up, I can just easily replace a panel. When I'm done with the rest of the work, I can just tear it off and spend some serious $$$ and get it painted professionally. Now on to the sequentials!1991 Grand Marquis LS blog- Mayhem; two 12" Kenwood 800w subs, True dual catback, BBK shorties, cherrybombs, steel top, L/H hella lights, 18" AR Torq thrust, Trans cooler, class 3 hitch kit, more on the way...
