LED Knight Rider Scanner Strip Thinger

Recent sanity loss has led me to believe my 1896 Mercury Grand Marquis LS would benefit greatly from having a "Knight Rider" scanner LED lightbar strip thingamabobbit.

There isn't much room underneath the grille between it and the bumper, not even enough to fit a Canadian nickel.

Now the question remains: Is there a LED scanner small enough to fit there?

Why not mount behind the grille? All sorts of cheap options on eBay.

I would do all the repairs you have mentioned/asked about before I worried about doing lights!!

hey... the Vic got lights and I still haven't finished fixing the crossover on the intake.

sometimes you just gotta do little cheap things while you save up for the bigger fixes.

also... I still haven't figured out a good spot to mount the second one I have on my 88. Been thinking of just following MrMarquis's lead behind the grill... but I also want it to "fit in" wherever I put it.

Maybe cut out a slot for it in the car's bumper...

Personally I think mounting it flush to the grill right at the top of the slats would be the best bet.

What about the AC condenser?

gets too hot in use (might not be as big a deal up there in the frozen north as it is down here in Texas)... would warp the strip long term. At least make a bracket to space it some away from the condenser. I'm thinking of using the thing to control a bank of relays to trigger LED side markers made into a strip and mounting THAT behind the grill.
