Lincoln Town car emblem (sorry didn't know where to post)

Hey guys, I am sorry but there was no catagory for me to post. I have a 1989 Lincoln Town Car. I am looking to put the script town car lettering on the passanger side fender of the car but it looks like there are suppose to be rubber "socks" that grip in the metal studs of the lettering. Anybody know what is the best way to mount it. Rubber grommet? I want to drive to avoid using glue!

Those rubber "socks" are called "barrel clips", and you can get them at any automotive supply store, body shop supply store and probably find them on ebay. I don't think your average Autozone or Advance auto parts would have them, but it's worth a try.

They do come in different sizes so you have to be sure to get the right ones.

Does anybody happen to know what size barrel clips to get for the emblem on the fender?

When I had this issue with the fin trim on my Mark VI fenders, I just took the trim peice to a local hardware store and found the clips that fit. I made it out for less than $4 and 12 clips along with some other parts for other projects. (It was an ACE affiliated hardware store)

the part you posted is the idea you're looking for if it's not the right size.

So i have better luck going to an ACE store..hmmm I can't imagine a Home depot having one. What other kind of clip would be comparable to a barrel clip?
