i too have found thenm on ebay.. and since im use insurance money im not really worried about price.. but all the antennas ive found dont come with that little trim plate that goes around it

82 Merc power antenna

There's an 85 GM in a yard a little north of Cincinnati that ill be going to within the week if the weather permits. I can see about getting it for you. Let me know and I'll see if its in good shape. I don't believe it's a base though so probably no luck on the taillights.

I'm pretty sure the interior is blue.

in the event that you go to that yard.. im in need of the in dash clock as well if you wouldnt mind. that power antenna would be amazing to have. and possibly the front fender lamps if theyre not trash.. youre right about the tail light though..

oh.. and if the antenna is bad.. i DEFINITELY want the trim plate and i can buy the motor myself

Alright, chances are I'm going atleast one day next week. The antenna trim shouldn't be a problem at all. If you want the analog clock, I've only ever seen 1 of those. I have a digital clock that I took outta my car when I put a tripminder in, but I think one of the buttons were hard to push.

The lights you're talking about ditch lights right? They turn on when you're turning?

if the antennas good i want the whole thing.. if its damaged i want the trim plate. not too woried about the switch i planned on wiring it to the ingnition to always go up and down when its on "accesory" but if its easy enought to take it all out then go for it, that'd be nice to have it set up like factory

the clock thing im not really worried about what it is. i have a factory delete plate there with it being a base marquis and all. so i want something to go in there either would be fine.

as for the lights i think theyre ditch lights. idk. i have blank fender and thought it might look a bit fancier whether they flash with signals or not.

Sorry man I didn't make it to the yard yet. I was going to go tomorrow but its supposed to rain. I need to return something to them so ill be there within 15 or so days. Most likely next week sometime.

They also say they have a few later boxes, 88's. anyone know if they use the same power antenna trim as the older boxes?

If they do there's much better chances I can get you your trim or whole antenna

No it's cool. They have the trim listed on their website and they're saying that the 85 merc is a base. They aren't always accurate though. If it is actually a base it may have your taillights.

If you know whether an 85 base would have your taillights, or if you could get a good pic of your lights I may be able to get them as well. If this one is actually a base.

sadly mine are only available from 79 to 82, 83-87 have a different bolt pattern with mounting them.. i could use a new chrome rocker on the pass. side mines scuffed and dinged all to hell.. maybe pass rear wheel well moulding.. previous owner put a GRAND Marq piece on it and it doesnt go down as far as the base model trim.

i doubt the tail lights will work.

Alright man got a chance to go to the yard today. The 85 merc they had was wrecked on the passenger fender and they had an 88 CV that I got the antenna trim from but the antenna was broken.

No luck with a trip minder but I have a clock somewhere around here I can find.

perfect.. i should be able to find an antenna somewhere... how much would you want for the trim ring and that clock?

Let me find the clock and get everything together for a shipping quote, but it shouldn't be anymore than $10.

And no I've only seen about 5 early boxes (pre 88) ever since I've been looking for them. There's another yard around here that usually has some older cars but they stack them 3 high so anything is usually a bitch to get off. I may go check it out soon though.

Anyway I'll look for that clock tonight, last I remember it worked but one of the buttons were kinda sticky.

i work wonders with 12v so i should be able to get it cleaned up nicely.. in the event you check out that yard with stacks.. PLEASE do all you can to get me some tail lights. ill pay you well for your efforts. id rather have somebody find them who knows a thing or 2 rather than some random yard that pulls it for profit you know. any tips where i could look for the antenna? ebay i assume

oh by the way.. did you pull any of the switches and wires or anything for the power antenna off that 88?

because i found just the antenna here, this'll work right?
