    Rims. Rims. Rims.

    Good evening.

    No, wait, come back.

I wanted to ask what some fairly stylish rims might be to put on my 1986 MGM.

I don't want anything ridiculous, but I'm thinking an upgrade from the stock 15" ones would be nice.

    Any suggestions?

That depends, are you looking for stock rims, or aftermarket?

A lot of people go with mustang bullet style rims, or if you want a muscle car look SS craigers, Of course it's all personal opinion as to what looks good. There are millions of different style rims out there, so saying what kind of rims is kind of like asking what kind of ice cream you will like lol

There's actually a website where it will show you what certain wheels will look like on a vehicle, a basic representation anyway. I can't seem to find it but I know someone will chime in with the website.

I really like the way the Bullitts look on the older boxes. I've been seeing more and more of the Mustangs that would have them in local junkyards so hopefully I will soon have a set with tires for about $100

I also like black steelies with chrome lug nuts, which I have right now.

But like said, it's all personal taste

If you're like people around my area and like 24" gold wire wheels, thats you thing. But I hope you wouldn't ruin another panther with that style.

2000 Lincoln Town Car Signature Series - 165XXX, PI intake swap , 30 MPG Easy on the Highway, All options except dual exhaust. Currently looking for 2 front seats: Heated, Memory, and Light Graphite color!!

It is my intention to never ruin my car.

I intend to keep maintaining, repairing, and upgrading it until it looks brand new.

                  Yes, I am quite mad.

Those are pretty sick. Personally I like some truck rims on our cars, considered some for my ride as well.

Except it seems they're 17" only, not 15".

Would going to 17 from 15 require changing the gears or anything?

No, you would need to change tire size, specifically the sidewall height, in order to maintain a similar outside diameter. However if you're going aftermarket you may want to increase the width as well. I can't get the tire calculator i normally use to work. however a 225/50/17 or so should work. Someone who uses 17's can chime in on the exact size needed.
