    Custom Whale Headlights... Any success stories?

    I was looking at my headlight housings the other day, and the chrome on the inside is starting to look kinda faded and dull. I was thinking about trying to open the housings and black out the top, bottom, and sides a-la Marauder style, but I hesitate to pull the trigger on the project because I can't really afford to replace the housings if it looks like poop. Any success stories out there? Pics would be helpful!

    I've done this on a few hondas and It's pretty easy. Pick up a set of junkyard lights if your unsure and try. All you do is preheat a oven at 200-250 put on a baking pan with a few towels under the housing let them sit in the oven of about 5 minutes then pry apart with a putty knife. Then paint and let dry then reseal the lens to the housing and enjoy.

        Been looking on Google Images, and came across a guy out in Nevada that tinted his front lights... Now I need to look and see what the corner lights look like and try to decide whether it'll be better to pull apart and paint, or just tint the lenses. Decisions, decisions!

            Any pics of his work? I'm not sold on halos for my body style… I suspect it'll make it look cross-eyed.

              I could see partial halos...

              |(O)\|||||||/(O)|

              The parenthesis being the partials around the headlights... illuminating the "flat spots" inside the housing as it were.

                I've seen some halo conversions that actually looked pretty snazzy. I would think about it if I had a whale.

                          I decided to tint the headlights and corner lights. I also blacked out the "teeth" in the grille and re-did my tinted tails. I'll post pics up later.
