I have a 85 ltd crown vic that now has some door damage and a rusted fender so i was wondering what other box's body parts will swap onto mine. All the junk yards around me dont have any older vics like mine.

Most Box Vic/Marquis body parts will interchange. Only a couple of weirdnesses to watch for with fenders and doors.
It'd help a lot to know where you live! You can put your general vicinity in your profile so folks will have an immediate idea of how hard it is to get parts to you.2012 Mazda5 Touring | Finally working on the LTD again!

Everything from 79 to 91 will work for you from Crown Vics and Grand Marquis. Only differences will be in trim pieces.~David~

is that true for fenders too david?
For sure though, all Grand Marquis and Crown Vics (except 2-doors of course) have the same doors. Only difference will be trim, power windows and/or locks, etc. All very changeable.

Variations I know of: '88-up (I think) doors have weird-sized wiring harness holes, and '79 had a weird recess for the window surround brightwork. And wagon rear doors have different window frames.
For fenders, I think the usual issue is just ditch lights versus no ditch lights. And I've seen one or two replacement p/s fenders up for sale with no antenna hole (which I like).
Hoods, '79-'87 Vic/LTD has a wider raised bit in the middle. '88-'91 Vic and all years Marquis/Gr.Marquis used the same hood (IIRC). Decklid differences seem to follow those divisions as well (I think! - my only sedans are pre-'88 LTDs).Last edited by 1987cp; 11-21-2011, 10:46 PM.2012 Mazda5 Touring | Finally working on the LTD again!

then there's the rivets/posts on the GM doors from 88-91 for the lower moldings vs the smooth doors of the vics with just the peel and stick molding.
wheel arches are different with the body styles as well. 79-87 have one style... 88-91 have another.
pretty much if you stick within the blocks you can interchange parts pretty easy

I don't have pictures for the front fender trim... but when I got it in the mail, the 85 trim would not fit my 88. The trim was too low in the arc (flatter across the top). The 88 arcs up more than the older styles. The rear trim would not fit because of the same thing. I did get some 89-91 model trim that did fit up front, but again, the rear would not work because 88 has a one off rear trim with the tab that goes all the way down the rocker instead of stopping just at the rocker. THAT I have a picture of.
and why do I know this?
because my car has be side swiped twice on the driver side and I still have not been able to get trim that fits the rear wheel well. Though the damage to it is very mild compared to what the front one looked like.Last edited by sly; 11-22-2011, 06:03 PM.

That said, fenders will bolt up from 79-91, but the lines may not match up for all the trim and such.
