    quarter panel?

    I have a 1990 wagon.

Over a year ago I backed into a yellow pole and mangled my LR door just a little bit, that will be far easier to get out; but I put a number of crinkles into the quarter panel.

Can that quarter panel come off as a unit and be swapped with an unbent junkyard quarter panel?
Or is it all welded together?

And if it can't just be swapped and needs to go to a body shop, can they get spoons behind it, or will the only solution be welded studs and a slide hammer to yank out?
I'll take a photo soon to post.
I'm going to start saving up to take care of this, and then repaint the car. I'm young and therefore only have a few years' driving history, so in fact, I've never been to a body shop... and I'm scared of how bad the bill might be to pull out a crinkled quarter panel! It's a bunch of sharp little creases in a 2' length right at the wheel well.
I did go to the junkyard and already find a new piece of aluminum trim for the wheel well: obviously, that's not worth straightening.

welded. it's a cut it out and replace with straight and weld it in fix unless you are real good with shaping metal and can pull all the dents out and make it pretty clean with a stud gun and slide hammer. though cutting and welding in a straight piece may well be easier. For me, I'd have to have someone else do it... I don't do body work.

Sounds an awful lot like what happened to my wagon back in '01 or so. I have a piece of Crown Vic sitting in the shed in hopes that I'll someday have the time and inclination to try fixing it.

i use slide hammer and welded stud trick on dents and dings since not all parts are accessible from the inside of car... on top of that, if not welded right, the metal warps on the seam if cutting and replacing

I thought stitch welding was supposed to drastically reduce panel warpage?
