I've found it difficult these days to differentiate between people driving with their brights on or if it's just their regular lights with new cars these days. I wish all cars had distinct seperate high beams like the cars of the 80s. It's becoming incresingly difficult to tell who's being an ass and who's not.

at the idea that someone wouldn't know their high beams are on. Still, some people are so oblivious that it's a very distinct possibility.

Back when I used to do drive-thru, this would happen roughly once every other two weeks; Once every other month on part B:

Me: "Uh, excuse me [ma'am/sir], but do you know that your highbeams are on?"
Customer: "Huh? My highbeams are on? How do you know?"
Me: "Because you blinded the crap out of me and I can see the blue light on your instrument panel from up here."

Customer (answer "A"): "Oh, shit! Didn't even know they were on, haha. *turns them off* Thanks, I wonder how many people I pissed off."
Customer (answer "B"): "Oh. Uh... right, high beams. I can't remember, how do you turn those off?"

True story, I swear on the cross.

When I got my previous 1986 Mercury Grand Marquis in 2006, I had turned the high beams on and had no idea how to turn them off.

It never came with the manual, you see, so I had to pull over and examine the dashboard for about 10 minutes before I finally saw the engraving on the turn signal arm.

I miss the floorboard-mounted highbeam switch on my old man's old '83 F-250, honestly.

Anywho. Punctured tires for innocent motorists = bad. Making driver behind you see spots and killing their night vision = FUN!

I would be lying if I said I hadn't somewhat seriously considered a windshield spritzer tank and pump mounted in the rear filled with used antifreeze to simulate a leaky cooling system... Might be tricky to getthe nozzle in a location where the stuff would reliably make it onto the windshield of a tailgating vehicle, without being obvious what it was.

I've never tried that one though.

Go look at the setup on a late 90s Escort wagon...as designed it will reliably spray whatever is behind you
