I saw something the other day I'd never seen or heard of before.
This was on a ratty Town Car Cartier, 1987 I believe. Definately '85 or newer for an ABSOLUTE CERTAINTY.
The trunklid had a hump.
I have seen add-on humps that screw or glue to the factory, non-humped Town Car trunklid. THIS WAS NOT THAT.
This was a unique, non-Mark VI trunklid. It was one piece, all steel, no seams like you see with the add-on humps. The humped portion was more vertical than a Mark VI's in the same way the Versailles' was more vertical, though it was not as tall a hump as either the VI or Versailles.
I am KICKING myself for not getting pictures, but I was running late and it didn't really occur to me how rare what I had seen was until about an hour later when I had time to slow down.
Anyone ever seen one? Was it a Lincoln accessory, or was it aftermarket? I'm guessing aftermarket. I asked a friend who was very into Lincolns right at that place in time and he had only seen the grafted-on humps.
