Between the doors on each side. How do you remove the plastic cover? I've been thinking of replacing them with LED's or a limo style light. Would a single led work with that cover yellowed or is there a way I can brighten them? Or do I replace them? Also, how hard is it to run LED tailights and front markers? Has it been done? Found a couple places that will do the HID's for cheap. As usual guys, any and all help will be appreciated.

4 screws on the wood grain lighted trim. twist the socket out. remove the bulb. Replace with 194 LED. The dome light cover fails with LEDs. It's better with no cover.
To run LED tail lights and stuff, you need an electronic flasher and the proper LEDs.

I believe he is talking about the coach lighting.~David~

my car starts and it has AC. Yours doesn't start and it has no AC. Seems obvious to me.

i think he means coach lamps. pop the chrome caps from the top and bottom off. a small pick of small flat screw driver will do. then remove 2 philips screws. the light should pop off. sometimes the foam seal will be a bit sticky. replace bulb.

Will I be able to tell what is right? Is the dome wit maps easy to remove? And I'm guessing the flashers for leds can be found @ auto parts store? Along with bulbs I will need...r they all the same? And will led work on the coach lamps?1986 Mercury Grand Marquis Colony Park A.K.A "Christine"TRADED.......Gone to a better home hopefully.

Pull the center lens. There are two types. The one that uses the 194 style bulb. and the other that uses a weird bulb. To remove either, remove the center lens, unscrew the two screws holding it to headliner.
You can get the electronic flashers at your auto parts store. Not all LEDs are the same, you'll have to look around to figure out which ones are good. LED should work for the coach lamps I would think.

i am using white 5 way LEDs for the coach lights on B pillar between front and rear doors... also have LEDs inside and out... the flasher is known as a heavy duty or Electronic flasher for our cars... i replace the license plate bulb, all rear bulbs, ditch lights, front signals, hood and trunk lights
