installing new weather stripping

I bought the 4 door weather stripping from the buy and sell forum and I don't want to fuck anything up when installing it.



Any tips on installing it and then lining the doors up properly again? Any advice at all you can give.

You are okay with removing the old stuff correct? Like removing all the surrounding trim so you can pull all of the old stuff out? If so...all you have to do it push on the new stuff. Cant really hurt good condition weatherstripping because it should all be flexible.

As far as lining up door are concerned, have you messed with the hinges, or just the striker?

I hope you didnt touch the hinges because it is just a major pita lining that shit up. But the striker, just loosen it and pull it towards the outside of the car centered in the play area it has (vertical wise). Then just work it in until you are happy with how everything is lining up door wise. No definitive place to put it in as it is all specific to the car. Just have to play with it till you are happy.

Only messed with the striker to squish down the current shitty weather stripping. The only time I go near the hinges is to spray white lith on them.


I can't visualize exactly what trim needs to come out but removing it shouldn't really be an issue thanks!
