paint guns ... what do you like?

I recently used my primer and paint guns on a small project. I currently have the ATD 6900 set. I was terribly disappointed with them. A lot of other things went wrong with the project, but the guns did not seem very user friendly.

I'd like to know what you fellas are using and what you would recommend for primer and paint guns. I'm planning on selling the ATD set. When the time comes to paint the whole car, I'm going to spend the money on guns that can handle the job and give me the results that I want. All I've really seen are DeVilbiss and Iwata from Eastwood.

All relevant info on this subject is appreciated.

devilbiss makes a good gun. sata also makes a very good gun. You get what you pay for, BUT there is no reason to go spend $1000 on a gun when your not a professional painter. There are plenty of really nice guns in the $100 dollar range.

My brother has a nice Devilbiss (sp?).

My Dad paints with an old siphon feed Binks, and he loves it. Has decent results, as well.

I'm looking forward to trying my hand at using thinned Rustoleum with a 4" foam roller.

My Dad bought a HV/LP spray gun kit from Harbor freight to spray my truck in both primer and paint. It worked beautifully, sprayed very nicely, and left almost no orange peel.

The kit is called "Professional Automotive HVLP Spray gun kit". Im looking at the ad right now, and its actually on sale for $49.99, instead of $59.99 like we paid.

I'd recommend you look at these before you blow a ton of cash on some crazy expensive guns.
