    Trim Interchangeablity Question

Up at one of the yards I go to is an 88 Ex-Cop car (picture Pete's, only in silver and no bucket seats)

There are numerous parts I would like off of it, the speedmeter, clock delete plate, rear window trim, etc. but I was wondering one thing.

The fenderwell trim and the stainless steel runners below the doors, will those interchange with my 87? When I get going on body work and whatnot, I want to get rid of the granny trim and run with what the police cars had. The trim is in reall nice shape (I might grab all of it just for shits and giggles) but what of it will actually work on an 87?

everything will work. thing is, the wheel well trim wont work with your lower door moldings unless you get custom lol. they are the same body car in and out, just with a facelift

If you are talking about replacing your granny trim that runs from front fender to door, door to door, door to quarter panel and quarter panel to rear wheel well, rear wheel well to rear, along with the wheel well trims and black rocker panel trim (running along the entire middle of the car) in exchange for just the wheel well trims and chrome looking rocker panel trim...yes if you completely take those items from the police car. The police car has no granny trims so the wheel well moldings run all the way to the bottom of the wheel wells where as your current wheel well trims tuck behind the granny trim.

yeah, thats exactly what I am talking about lol.

My plans are to eliminate the lower door/fender trim, get rid of all the rivets, make everything nice and smooth, then put the fenderwell trim and stainless runners from a police car on.
