How long before aircraft stripper will start stripping?

Trying different products to see what's best on these rims and I'm gonna grab some aircraft stripper tomorrow to try.

How long does it take to eat up clearcoat and paint? Do you just pressure wash the stuff off or use an abrasive like an SOS pad?

Well, for the aircraft stripper I used on a fiero intake... you don't need to do anything. I put mine on with a brush, and in about 15 minutes, all the paint was wrinkled up and all sprayed off with the garden hose. There was a few spots I had to chip off, but it all came off.

Oh... and wear gloves with that crap, it BURNS.

Wear thick chemical gloves, not just shitty nitrile mechanic's gloves.

Also it might be difficult to do on something like a wheel but if you cover it in plastic it'll be a lot more effective.

I usually wait 15 minutes... most of it comes off but sometimes some scraping is in order along with another spray of the stripper. X3 on the gloves...and watch your eyes too.

Got some today in a spray bottle, had a big jug of it in my hand but had to go to another parts store because none of the 5 knuckleheads standing around behind the counter wanted to help me, but preferred to shoot the shit with the guys standing around not actually buying anything.

Put the jug down on the floor where I was standing and walked to the store a block away.

Anyway, I'm gonna give this stuff a go later.

this stuff is pretty great. you only really need a hose with a high-pressure setting and some time to let it sit before you hose the paint stripper off. probably either need multiple treatments or to let the paint stripper soak in longer because it didnt take all of it off but the difference is appreciable.
