Need to get this installed somehow. It's slightly different than the one I have...wider. What would I need to do to modify it if it doesn't fit properly?

re fit older ornament into new(1990) base mount, may have to file it. -
you can make it fit, just might have to drill a bigger hole into the header panel and shave off one of them guide pins from the base. it will make fitment easier.

Remove the big nut from under the header panel. Then compress the spring and allow the stiff wire to feed through the big spring and then the ornament will be free from the base.Last edited by 87gtVIC; 06-01-2010, 02:49 PM.~David~

I installed the LTD hood ornament tonight. It looks awesome...I had to install the ornament in the base for the 90-91 because the older style base is smaller and I'd need to fill the hole in an start a new one - much easier this way.
Sanding it down by hand because I don't have a grinder takes a while but at least I can make sure it fits right.sigpic
