    My Towny paint... 2010

i've had the lss a long time.......took her home october 1998........paint looked good for many years, but in the past two yrs or so it has gone to hell......i took these pics mainly for nick to see of the damage and dings it has
the roof is starting to rust, fender has been for a while, that happened outside of cape cod in 2001....... no rust hoses in the body, the bottoms of the doors still look decent......one of the shots is the dogleg behind the passenger side door....got it that way with the damaged door and also the scrape on the passenger 1/4......... i got scraped by a trailer in 2004 on the right rear filler panel......very few dings
    some pics

Do you have a MIG welder? Also, do you have a slide hammer with some sort of hook or two-part clamp on it?

Scott your LSS deserves to be pretty once again. Nothing makes a man feel better than a brand new 24 year old car.

Matrix paint is a great alternative...though if the job is done right and the car cared for properly after paint a professional can make a rattle can job look GREAT for piddilings. I cannot wait to see this car all dolled up.

PPG has a cheaper line of paint called Omni. That's what I painted my car with and it came out very nice. The big difference is that it often takes more coats to get complete coverage than with more expensive paint, but since we're not doing a color change, and because blue covers pretty well to begin with, I wouldn't worry too much about it. I covered up red sealer with the white stripe down the side of my car, and it took ten coats, but white is notoriously bad at coverage so it wasn't unexpected.

Dupont's equivalent "affordable" line is called Nason.

Nick I see this as a great opportunity to advertise your work and make a business out of it? Traveling paint and body man with decent prices working from coast to cost putting that shiny paint back on panthers boxy style and up.

thats the same clear i used on my car. It comes out real good. If you use hole gallon you will have a thick ass clear on your car like a candy apple and will requir lots of wet sanding to get the orange peel out but will look areal nicee when ya done. I m gunna send mine out to a real shop for wet sanding.
