How does one adjust the door lock striker to make the door close very slightly tighter?

I thought it wasn't but it actually seems intact. I don't think I have a torx head big enough, I'll have to get a hold of one if my ghetto door seal doesn't work. It would be nice to have the use of that door

Once you loosen it up it will slide around along the plane of the surface its mounted too. You need a t-50 'torx' bit

If your worried about it, just mark the original position of the striker with a marker or scribe. So that way if you mess it up there will always be the original position to come back to....I'd say its definitely worth a shot...I was pleased with my results when i did it. And you can pick up a torx t50 for probably 5-7 US dollars at a hardware/auto parts store.

You had leaks too? Permatex did wonders for the leak at the top but I can't get rid of the seams when I'm using the stuff and that's where water likes to come through because there's enough clearance between the door and frame for it to squeeze though..if I squish the stuff down by adjusting the striker, nothing should be getting through

You can also use a pair of pliers if you are in dire need of adjusting stuff. It will just leave the edges worn.~David~
