once you crack it loose just do like 3/4 of a turn and then tap it in the direction you want it to go with a hammer. That makes sure that it stays relatively in place. Loosening it a ton will cause it to plop down to its lowest adjustment, and that's no good.

It's not a big deal, just a piece of advice. Chances are you'll have a dirty outline of where the striker used to be once you move it so you can always work with that as a reference anyway.

My license plate reminds me every day! I forget that the term Wicked is a NE thing all the time though. Its bad when on vacation and people don't understand what it means in the context.

You will. Eventually, the doors will sag, and that'll probably be from bad hinge pins, and if ignored long enough the door will cut into your trim, won't shut right, and leak.

In the case of my 89, you have to be the Fonz to get the drivers door open

A pair of straps, an engine hoist, and an air hammer make short work of any hinge pin job, no matter how heavy the door.

floor jack and someone to hold the door upright also works. put a 2x4 between the jack and the door to prevent screwing up the paint, etc.

Having done it both ways, that's not even close to as insanely fucking awesome as using a hoist.

true... but I don't have a hoist. I do have a floor jack though.

You mean they'll go bad eventually? What are signs it's gone bad? It doesn't seem to close quite as tight closer to the hinge than at the rear of the door.

adjusted the striker...no big deal. i'm assuming there's no set position that is best for every car, you just have to adjust and check, adjust and check, adjust and check?

Your door wont shut right, youll have to lift it in place, and it will leak. If its really bad youll see it sagging, and you can feel it can move up and down when open. Youll know.
