Best way to rmove swirl marks?

We tried buffing out the paint a little while back, and it made the blue really stand out better, however there are a lot of visible swirl marks in both quarters. What's the best way to get rid of these?

Re buff, carefully, Buffing is an art and can be screwed up very easily. You can try taking some rubbing compound and rubbing them out by hand as well. I hand rub my car every spring to make the paint deeper.

      hand glaze

that shoul work, if it doesnt rebuff with a foam pad and swirl out, then hand glaze again

but hand glaze should do it

Mother's makes a machine polish called Swirl Mark Remover. I've never used it with a buffer (need to buy a new one) but by hand it's pretty nice. You could try that. Meguiar's has a similar product called SwirlX. I've never used it but meh.

Hey Nick, are you good at buffing paint out?

I'm not. And I wouldn't mind having a professional do my truck. I hand polished/ waxed it today, and it looks damn good. But for future reference...

I can buff, but I'm not really an expert at it. I have a REALLY terrible buffer at home so I don't get any practice outside of the shop. I wouldn't be comfortable doing a "show" buff on someone else's car. I can do a passable job, but not a show quality job.

If you need some bodywork/painting done, on the other hand...

                Funny you should mention that.

Next time we get together, I'll have you look at some stuff on the Dodge.

thanks for the help guys. I'll try looking for that Mothers stuff, as I have used their products before and I love them. I never knew they made a swirl mark remover.

I have managed to get swirl marks out with 3m imperial hand glaze as well, but youll have to do your whole car or it will look funky with one shiny panel. I swear by that stuff, but I am sure the mothers will work well too, they make good stuff.

+1. In bright sunlight, even "streakless" wax will streak...
