    question on bumper rub strips

alright, someone fucked with my rearview mirror the other day (im not the only one in the family that drives it), and I didnt realize it until I backed into a telephone pole (it was positioned so that i couldnt see the right rear corner of the car. The bumper strips did their job, as it didnt dent the bumper at all. The only thing is, it broke the right corner strip off. I lost 3 of the 5 tabs, and those three are still in the bumper. The other two (the two on the side) appear to be in tact. I really do not want to pay for another side strip, for Im getting stripless bumpers in the spring (although now, I dont know). Is there a temporary fix I can do to get it back on there and hold,? Its just right now it really looks like ass.

Just slap some silicone on the back side and put a rubber band around it till it dries. It will hold fine.

Yeah, Id go with the silicone, especially if your getting new bumpers in the spring.

I used a thin screw-head bolt with a fat washer behind it to hold my corners on... a little dab of black silicone over the head and you'd never know it's there.
It might not work on anything besides the corners though since you cant really access the backside of the bumper on the main parts...

Might as well utilize this thread,

How interchangable are the impact strips? Are all the 88-91 impact strips the same? In particular, front passenger side corner strip. Some guy failed to stop where he should have, and how I have a messed up strip to replace.

                  Alex.

Thats the only clear pic of that piece on my 91 I have, Im not sure if the holes were it mounts on the bumper are the same or not back to 88. I don't see why if they are the same the wouldn't be.

I ask given the headlight bezel mount differences from '89/'90 thread I read the other day. Another one of those parts you expect to be the same, but are not. The headlight bezel can be modified, the rub strip, not so much.

Contrary to popular belief it is the fuzzy dice that do that, that set broke when the officer in VT made me take them down, my next set got thrown up on, I think I need to go to the store and pick some more up tomorrow.
