rebuilt and tinted tail light

i figured i would post these for all the box onwers that have leaky lights , and to se the progress of my car , but it is nice to know that you can pull these lights apart very easily

i suffed them up with 600 g paper

i painted the insides with chrome paint , it should help with brightness from being tinted

these are suffed with 600 g paper and 1 lite coat of vht nightshades, i had to finish sanding off the striping

i will have more pics here soon, got snow so i had to wait a little bit should have more up in a couple days

i'm spraying the second coat of night shades today then 1000 g wet sanding them to night and hopefully get the clear on them tomorrow, then let it dry good for a couple of days to tape off the finns to paint silver/chrome

i really want to see what these look like when they are done. I almost did this with my 79 tails, but I didnt, for fear of what they would look like, or how biright they would actually be. Honestly they wouldnt look that bad. Keep us updated! Who knows, in the spring, I might do this.

i dont know if im going to do led in the taillights i hate the dot look that they give in the lenses , i swaped my front turns back to regular bulbs and i think it looks better , but i have leds in the b piller , reverse lights, plate light , dash and interior lights , and of corse hids in the headlights , i never get tired of the looks

You are using the old, outdated cheap bulbs... the new better ones don't do that at all. I don't even have the best ones and I have no dots and decent light spread.

how do the B pillar light look at night with LED bulbs?

I've got red LEDs in my coach lamps and I'm very impressed with the results. Definitely brighter than the stock one, so I'd say I white LED would lessen the yellow glow it used to give off.

reason i ask is, i got blue standard bulbs in the mercs lights and they give off a greenish blue glow and the white LEDs give off a blue glow naturally. so whould the LEDs still give off greenish glow through the lamp? or would it be a bright bluish light light the limos?

in this i painted the top back to satin black so it matchs the rest of the housing







i'm going to let everything dry well for a couple days then i'm going to tape off the finns and paint them in chrome and the trim around the back up lights also should have new pics up by the weekend
