Mexican CV, also Merc hybrid theory

Alright, so I was lookin over somebody's vacation pics from Mexico and came across some interesting stuff.

First, and completely irrelevant; mid-90's style Dodge Ramcharger. You know, like the Ram on Walker Texas Ranger and Nash Bridges, NOT the 80's style, but its a Ramcharger, like, Bronco style 2-dr suv.
Second, and equally irrelevant; late-90's style Ranger crew-cab DIESEL. I know its a diesel because it belongs to a friend.
Why don't we get this stuff?

Anyway, there was a 2 door Crown Vic, like we had here. However, this one had the 88-91 Nose. I looked it up, its factory, its not a mutt car.

Question #1 - Will the 88-91 nose just bolt on to the 87 & older 2-door body? How about the taillights?

Question #2 - Did the Merc come in a 2-door? If not, will an 87-style Merc nose bolt on the 2-dr Crown Vic?

I got thoughts runnin through my head, thanks in part to 1987cp's well... 1987 CP (check the T-type-lookin wagon in the sig, you ever seen one look that mean before?). I dunno if it'll come to light, but here's hopin. btw, anyone got a 2-dr for sale?

note* I've considered this with a T-Bird, but come to the determination that I just don't have any real desire to own one. Its like, its not as comfortable as a Vic, and doesn't perform as well as a Mustang.

What was your source for looking it up? I've never heard of it. Not saying you're wrong, I'm just curious.

No. It can be done, but it's more involved.

I mentioned the pic to my Dad (he wants a 2-dr/EFI, might trade his '92 for one), he dug up vacation pics from like 20 years ago with one they had rented. Along with that, an issue of Car Craft from the late-90's with a paragraph on it. Not much to go on, but I'll see if he can scan the pics and email them to me (he's in SC, little bit of a drive from here).

While it would seem unlikely at a rental place, it's possible that the 2-door was in an accident and its header panel was replaced with one from an 88-91 car because it was more readily available. Do the pictures you found happen to show the rear so that you can tell what style of taillights and trunk lid it had?

In 88-91, you could still get a 2Dr Grand Marquis. In Mexico, that is.

The car was rented out of Monterrey (Mex., not CA) around '92. The taillights were typical 2-dr Vic style just like here (by his memory, no pics of the rear that we can dig up).
The Ram and the diesel Ranger are in Playa Del Carmen.

Ramcharger pics, not the exact one I was talking about, but its the same thing (pulled this off website).

I want one. 3.9/2WD only, but c-list is full of totaled 318/4x4 half-tons, thats just an ECU and internals away from a 360.
