There was an article in magazine a year or so back about using Rustoleum, to paint a car. In short, you thin it way down and then paint on 6-8 coats, "colorsanding" between coats. And because its an enamel, when your done you can polish it out. The idea has its genesis on the internet, so if one wanted you can find out more about the process, and see examples, google it. It worked well on the Falcon they painted white. I have used the white on my car and it seems to be durable, and its for sealing metal.

I have a friend in North Carolina that painted his fox body Mustang in Wal-Mart gloss white.

It was quite startling as to how much gloss he got out of it.

Sanels ( a local parts shop ) sells DuPont spray bombs, it is really durable but its like 9 bucks a can, however a hundred or so bucks is by no means expensive for paint, i did all the primer on the body work on my car with it then had it shot for a grand at a local shop. The agreement was i did the prep, ever wet sanded the clear off a full size car with 300 grit? not my idea of fun however it saved me 1k dollars off the price so it was worth it. Being DuPont paint im sure you can find it anywhere that sells auto parts. They can color code it too but if your doing the whole car there is no need.
