    Rot on the B Pillar

Hey guys. I have some yummy rust that's turning into rot right where the rear passenger's door bolts to it. Rusting at both hinge mounting places. So my question for you guys, what can I do to repair it cheaply if possible?

Give a man a fish and he will be fed for a day. Teach a man to fish and he will promptly forget that he once did not know, and proceed to call anyone who asks, a n00b and flame them on the boards for being stupid.

my suggestion is remove door and hinge... grind rust off... use JB Weld to level the metal... sand it smooth ... then encapsulate it and paint it... hard to tell how bad it is with no pics.

Remove all the rust you can then see what you have to work with.

I need pics to be able to tell you anything for sure. If you check out the thread for my LTD, I have pics of where it is just starting to rust on the bottom hinge mounting point of mine, inside the B-pillar behind the hinge's mounting plate. Not the easiest area to fix.

                      Here they are mang.

Just starting to rust on the bottom hinge mounting point, behind the hinge's mounting plate. The top was not quite as bad, but much harder to access.

The Cause. Water leaking down into the B-Pillar. It would also rust out the section where the B-Pillar meets the Rocker Panel, eventually as well. I have to find and stop the source of the leak, before I fix the rust, or it will be back again.

Thanks mang. I forget if you're still coming to SF or not, if you are, would you mind taking the time to have a look at it there?

I would definitely take a look if I was there, and possibly even fix it for you for free, but I'm not going.
