I've been thinking about trying that.. it sounds like a hell of a lot of work, but I think it would be worth it to spend only around 50 bucks and be able to get rid of the rotting clearcoated brown mess my car has.. It's a 91 so of course the clearcoat is faded. Also, I want my vic to be black

I was going to do my BMW like this. I still think it's a cool idea.

It is a hell of a lot of work, it's for someone who doesn't mind hours of sanding to save money (though not inconsiderable). I'm going through something similar right now with touching up. Hundreds of little knicks in the paint, many many hours of wet sanding, touching up, buffing, etc, but I can't afford a new paint job.

But it's the perfect solution for someone on unemployment, or supporting a family, that wants to do car stuff but doesn't have much to spend.

I like the rattle can better, Thats what i used on the top half of my car.. it was about $50 total 4 paint. but it has 5 coats on the roof, A,B, and C pillars.. only 4 on the rest.. I HATE sanding, thats why i didn't use roller..

The roller method can be made to look good with a lot of sanding, but it is a complete waste of time, IMHO. The same results can be achieved by just rattle canning the thing, and with much less money/time/work spent.

If the car can look just as good with a rattle can job I'm all for it.

The method of painting has to have these qualities in this order.

                1. Cheap
                2. Looks good or at least not horrible haha
                3. Easy
