I'm going to a wrecking yard to get a couple of rocker moldings for my '86 CV. I need the thin ones that were used on the police cars and also on the '88-'91 Grand Marquis. I know they are held on by clips that hold the inside edges and one spring clip in the back. If I could figure out how to release the spring clip, the whole molding should just slide off the rest of the clips. Can anyone tell me how to release the spring clip?

you remove the two acorn nuts.......one is on the inside of the front fender, and one is inside the rear wheel well.....then just pop the trim off of the plastic clips......save some clips in case some of yours are broken

The very front of my rocker trim did not have an acorn nut, like the very rear mounting point, it was held on by a black plastic slider piece, which was riveted on the fender. Once you have the rocker trim loose from the rest of the rear/middle mounting points, you simply slide the trim towards the rear of the car, and it will easily come off.
