Teaser of my spring cleaning/refresh of the box

So I started my intensive spring cleaning on the box. I will also be repainting the wheels, still purple I think just a fresh coat. Also going to be stripping and polishing all the aluminum trim. So here is the teaser of some polishing i've done so far.

    before and after

A couple close ups of the work

I'm about 3 hours in on the polishing almost got one side done. Man I forgot why I hated polishing aluminum haha. But the results are definetly worth the effort IMO.

I forgot to mention to make sure to do a write up on this from start to finish It would be greatly appreciated. Like what products you used how it looked from start, then after striping it, then after polishing it and whatever comes after that, if anything. It would be awesome to have that on the forum and of course updates on the condition of the aluminum's condition after time goes by.

Will do, when I start on the other side I will get alot of pictures from start to finish and make a write up for you guys. Be patient with me though, it's a very time consuming process for me because I have OCD and it has to be perfect haha.

mrltd - sorry i forgot to reply to you, I did one piece a couple months ago. I didnt put wax or anything on it, and still no oxydation almost 3 months later. So I think if I just wax them really good and give them a quick wax when I wash the car they should hold up fine.

                Nice Work!

I plan on doing the same thing on both my cars. Not really looking forward to all that polishing though, lol. I am gonna clear coat the pieces afterward, with a special CC that is made for shiny aluminum trim.

Pete (Mercmarquis) and I were talking at Tom's homecoming meet, and he asked me if I ever tried a sealer on my polished wheels. I hated polishing them, but I was never smart enough to try a sealer such as zoop seal, etc. That may help prolong the shine, and lengthen polishing intervals.
