when they fall apart i usually just rip them out. one with an emblem on them would be cool, like the newer caddys and lincolns have.

i rip all mine out due to i had one catch fire after a carb backfire on one of my old cars took a bunch of snow to put it out lol

they are there to suppress fire......idea is the plastic retainers melt and the fiberglass blanket covers the engine, unfortunately in the real world, after 20 years they are covered in 1/2" of oil and will go up in flames if put near fire

Mine was burnt a bit near the battery area and was spreading to the back so i ripped it off when i got the car to the house last year.

i want one made up with a Ford emblem on it like how the Lincolns have there emblem on them. make it look better for show purposes... but then again, no raggedy blanket makes it look better than one that is falling apart.

Since when do the Lincolns have emblems on theirs? I've owned an '85 and an '88 and I never saw any emblems...

i think its the newer ones, ive seen a few cadillacs with the same including my 96.
