Nice Work so far! Keep it up!

Most people would never have the Balls/Motivation to de-skin their Tailgate/Door, to fix rust areas. I salute you good sir.

        Man, you are motivated!

If you want a good low-dollar rust converter, get the gel stuff in the bottle. Works really well. I personally prefer the brush on stuff.

Eastwood Rust Encaptulator is real good too. Better than POR-15.

Re-installing a tailgate sucks. Getting the alignment and all just right is a chore.

I am sure there is a thread about this somewhere and i did ask a long while ago, but...Has anyone found a replacement for that rubber seal that the tailgate window rides up against? i have searched every junk yard around me for a decent one and all of them have been cracked worse than mine. I did manage to find the trim that the window seats against though.

I'm thinking we're gonna have to start buying generic weather strip from JC Whitney or someplace like that and making our own. I know thats about the only solution for the window dew wipes, I can't imagine wagon rear dew wipes being any more available.

Dont make the same mistake i made....get the CONVERTER first and treat it and THEN use the encapsulator if you go this route...

anyone have a later model ford bronco? I was thinking back that i remember them having something simular. I know for a fact they have to remake those cause more of those are restored then these wonderful wagons. Even if they are not exactly the same, we may be able to figure out a way to modify it to adapt to the wagon.

The Bronco one is a lot wider. It might be easier to just remove the old staples holding the dead dew wipe material on, and staple new material to the original metal trim. I'm also thinking the contour of the bronco piece may be wrong.

I understand what you are saying if i was looking for a direct replacement. but i am looking for an alternative. If the bronco one is wider then that makes it easier to modify. Narrowing it is much easier then widening it. i just want to see one if anyone can come up with a decent pic. I found a couple but nothing that shows well how they attach, and no close ups either.
