Grand Marquis to CV front

I really love the look of the lights on the 89 crown vic, how much of a pain in the ass is it to change my Merc front to a Ford front end?

You'd need a Header panel, some light wiring, I think the hoods are the same.

I assume it has to do with the fact that the CV has more parking lights.

It wasn't.

And yes 89Merk, it has to do with the extra parking lights. But the catch is that if you want it proper, some of those parking lights are just lights, they don't work with the turn signals. I think the ones closer to the grille are the ones that work off the turn signals only. The ones on the outside are just running lights. I would need a EVTM to tell you how to get that stuff to work right. Might be harnesses hidden under the hood for that stuff. But I don't know.

in theory, the front clip has its own harness for all the lights that unplugs from under the hood witch keeps it simple in real ford fashion!

Hood, Bumper, header panel and probably some lighting mods. 79-87 stuff and 88-91 stuff is all unique to itself. This means if you want an 89 vic front end, all the stuff including the hood has to be from that generation.

if you sticking with and 88-91 gen car you will just have to change the header panel and lenses the rest will transfer for you old one like headlights. you just have pull the wiring harness off the header panel. its not that hard just getting to the 2 bolts in the fender wells suck but a bitt of advice unbolt the brackets from the rad support and the hood bracket from the header panel not the rad suport if so you will have to addjust you hood again. if you cant tell i have taken a few apart [i have 4 87and older header panels in the rafters]

If you're sticking to the 88-91MY, all you'll need is the header panel, bumper and the filler panel that gives the bumpers that integrated look. I installed a Mercury bumper on a Vic back in the day and because I didn't swap the filler panel it looked like ass.
