how come I can't find good old fashioned WAX anymore?

could try a good boat wax. i used a super soft wax on the truck and it lasted a pretty long time.

I am an extremely strong supporter of Black Magic's wax, it does things to bad paint that you wouldnt think possible, after i used it on my car after trying several other waxes it looked like i had a new clear-coat put on, even though i dont even have a clear ha. BLACK MAGIC! FTW

Bilt-Hamber Autobalm will make Meguiars, Turtle Wax, Zanio, Mothers and any other polish you care to name look like you are polishing your car with dog shit, it might seem expensive but one 10 ounce tub will do a Town Car at least 10 times maybe more.

I've actually found that Turtle Wax works pretty good if you age it for a few years. We had a jar of the green turtle wax paste that my dad bought back in '94. Never ended up using it and it ended up just floating around the house for a few years. Found it last year and hit the vic with a thick coat. Even the surface rust was nice and glossy...

Might want to consider setting up a sort of "wax cellar" and keep a few examples for a few years before using them. It's almost like some of the chemicals break down over time and actually turn into something that improves the wax quality.

Other than that, I got another vote for Black Magic, I've had some pretty nice results with it. That or any boat wax should do a right fair job.

I am a firm bealiver in MOTHERS and it last ver y long and yes it is a regular yellow paste waz. California Gld that is.
