MO gets a bath and body massage....

I've owned Mighty Mo a little over a month and she's had one bath before today.

I had some issues with orange peel in the clear coat on the hood and a couple of other areas, so I went at it lightly with the old-fashioned rubbing compound today. The hood didn't come out as well as I hoped, but the front fender looks incredible.

Took a few before and after shots. I wish the camera lens could "see" what my eye sees on the orange peel issue.

    Before:

    After:

Pics of the finished project. All Griot's Garage products - Machine Polish #3 where needed, light compounding and then two coats of their Best of Show wax, all applied with an orbital polisher.

Now, what can I do to get rid of the black spots in the vinyl top?

Also, three of Mo's wheel covers have curb rash. Are the wire caps cheap and easy to find? I'd like turbines, but money is tight right now...

    Thanks for looking.

It was missing when I bought her. Someone on CrownVic.net sent me the letters from an 04 GM LS. They're all individual letters, but don't match the Mercury nameplate in size or font. I'm contemplating putting them on anyway. I guess I can use silicone?

FordPartsDirect.com has the 90 style nameplates for like $30....

A bristle brush and some top cleaner should work well on the mildewey spots..

Spray Nine should work, but make sure you wash it off right away..
