    Painted some wheels.

They are for the Celica not the Vic, but as far as painting goes a wheel is a wheel.

I went to the local Advance Auto and picked up some Dupli-Color "High Performance Wheel Coating", Graphite and Clear. One can of color will do about 3-4 wheels, and once can of clear did all 6 wheels for me. I had already sand blasted the front of all the wheels, and took a disc sander to the back rim since I just needed it clean. I also cleaned up the rim where the tire bead seals. Just sprayed 2-3 coats of the Graphite on to make sure I got good coverage (still have some lite spots, oh well), and then followed up with a good coat of clear. Seemed to be best to wait about 5 minutes before applying the next coat. Wait about 10 minutes before applying the clear, if you get a run in the clear, and the the last coat of paint isn't a little dry, it'll easily dissolve the paint and wash a spot off. I did three at a time which is easily do-able, but 2 at a time would be more relaxed and could put more attention to detail into it. As these are my track wheels, they don't have to be absolutely perfect.

Turned out good though, I'll post more pics in a week or so in my Project Thread once I get tires mounted on them and get some nice sunny day pictures.

And some pics of the wheels. (first one with flash)

These are the pics from the Craigslist ad.

I have 6, I did 3 at a time. When I took pics three were hanging and three were on the floor.

I was lazy since they are track wheels, but I did sacrifice my thumb to make sure it got a good coat of paint all the way to the base of the stem. Stems are being replaced anyways, so I wasn't worried about them getting painted.

Nope, anything that will easily show brake dust is not being used. These are exclusively for the track, and it would take less than 3 minutes to turn them black.

Sandblast the wheels, or use sand-paper, either way clean the wheels up.
Then just paint the graphite on them, and within 10 minutes of final color coat spray the clear, and do your best to get it nice and thick without a run.

Pics of the wheels and tires on the Celica.

Got the some new tires mounted on a set of Supras that I sand blasted and painted. Drove on them for a while to break the tires in. Tires are Kumho Victor Racer V700 205/55/R14, they are R-compound tires (treadware 40), and they grip accordingly. Looks pretty tough IMO, and happy with the results. Also there is a nice close up pics so yall can see the kind of finish you get when you do a quick spray can job.

                        And on the car!

Hey man, the flaws are barely noticable. I wouldn't expect better results from a pro. They look wicked on that car too. I love the body styling on that car too, the way the bumper is tucked up there with the corner lenses.
