Damnit, mangs. Nathan in MN mentioned your CAR as being sexy. I agree, in a Panther sort of way. Have you seen the pic of nathan on the washer/dryer, LOL? It's stuck in my head anytime Nathan posts, or is mentioned

BTW I am not single and have kids, before any of you weirdos carry on.

                    Enough post hi-jacking.

I think the 79-81 grille would look good! I know it won't have the ford emblem, but scott DOES have one i'm sure...

Hmm I agree it would look good...but I'm putting it in car shows and (besides the radio pushbar and chrome airfilter housing) I am trying to keep it as original as possible, plus the grille is coming out really nicely, I will post a pic when I'm finished.

Oh and by the way that pic was taken before i got the chrom side mirrors and my grille fixed up so the next pic should be much better haha.

                          and nice pic haha

I kind of like the nickel-finish look on the grille. I'm beginning to kick around some notions of redoing my black trim in some sort of satin silver, and if I can match that color it might just about do it.

Have you seen pictures of that fancy chrome paint called ChromeFX? It's really pretty convincing as a finish, but the materials and application equipment look at a glance like they'd be prohibitively expensive unless you're crazy, stupid, filthy rich, or all three. I read somewhere that rattlecan chrome can turn out a little better if it's applied on top of a coat of gloss black and followed up with a coat or two of clear, so that's what I'm planning to try on my '79 front bumper once I'm through messing with it.

Although ... if enough of us were crazy enough to chip in on the junk to do ChromeFX instead of paying for real rechromed bumpers ......... :p

I saw that ChromeFX stuff on Rides. Billy Gibbons had it done on the roof of some Caddy he has. It was applied by Gene Winfield, which tells me it was indeed fairly expensive.

They tool applied a high gloss black base, color sanded and buffed to a glassy shine. Then he misted the ChromeFX on, and then clear goes over that. It looks pretty damn good to me, as far as being representative of chrome. But, I think it would be hard to mist the product on evenly. It seems as though it'd be easy to make it look bad, with shadows and whatnot.
