If you have really nasty looking chrome and you want to polish it up, find some Brasso with the rest of the home cleaning supplies in a store. It works very well, but it is a bit more agressive than most metal polishes so you have to be careful. I would not suggest it for nice shiny stuff, just dull nasty looking metal that isn't responding to anything else.

Speaking of chrome - Colin, I still have those visor/shade things that go over the side windows, I saved them when cutting off the roof cause they were in too good of a shape - dunno if you have those on your car, or whether you even want them, but if you do you can have them - they're only taking up space here, and I don't think I'll be getting another Panther any time soon. I ain't sure about them mounting clips tho, gotta look around for those.

If its just dusty, Windex on a towel is fine. I only like to polish metal when wiping it off doesn't bring back the shine.86 Lincoln Town Car (Galactica).

I have questions that're chrome/metal related.
Ok I have two chrome tips on my truck but they've got scratches in them so it feels rough. What can I do to get the scratches out without damaging the chrome? I was thinking sandpaper but I have a feeling they won't be so shiny after that. What do yall recommend?
Also I want to clean up my wheels and get them looking polished and shiny. They aren't chrome, so is there just a metal polish that will work?
After I get my question answers i'll release the thread again88 Town Car (wrecked, for sale)

Dan, use EagleOne aluminum cleaner, or turtle wax cleaner, they work AMAZING.
DK, have you tried a microfiber cloth they work wonders, and aren't rough like papertowels.sigpic[LIST][*]99 Crown Vic Police Interceptor aka The Cruiser

Exactly, I don't trust papertowels when I work on my car, I use shoptowels, and rags for engine work, and microfiber clothes for cleaning.sigpic[LIST][*]99 Crown Vic Police Interceptor aka The Cruiser

I wipe my wheels off with paper towels and they get off tons of black gunk. Then after all the black stuff I can get with a dry paper towel is off I use wet paper towels and that gets off the remaining black stuff and they look nice and shiny compared to before but not show worthy.88 Town Car (wrecked, for sale)

Not to go way off topic. But dude be carfull with that black shit. I recommend a mask and gloves and be sure to wash your hands rather well afterwards.People should not be afraid of their governments. Governments should be afraid of their people.
