Buffing

I'm gonna buff the paint on my 2 door soon, just lookin for some tips if ya'll can help me out. Also, what do I want to use for it, like polishing compound, or what?

some "color back" car polish will work. Look for stuff that says "makes old paint new" and it removes oxidization... "safe for all finishes" that kind of thing. I just used some stuff called 2001 car polish, it worked pretty good. Before I had used turtle wax color back.

and they mean it when it says do not apply in the sun or on a hot car, lol

If it is really faded bad, rubbing compound my be needed.

In what condition is the paint?

Is it oxidized, contains swirls, or has scratches?

Will you be using a Porter Cable, machine polisher, or applying everything by hand?

I have a 6" inch or so orbital buffer. Paint is mostly shiney, just some spots are oxidized I guess.

Be sure to use the proper pads.

I'd try Meguiars #83 or 3M's Perfect It III swirl remover.

Furthermore, I know Klasse All In One cleaner and protectant can remove oxidation.

This might also be helpful.

Once you're finished, be sure to apply some sort of polish or wax.

I was going to try the 3 step Meguiars stuff from advance. I have all the pads for the buffer, too.
