    Rust-Be-Gone

I finally got around to getting my cancer removed! It's been there since I got the car, and it was literally eating away at me. It was coming from the inside out and was clear into the door jamb. My only regret is that I didn't get a better 'before' picture.

Take a look between the rear door and the rear wheel, below the molding:

    And now:

Flawless job! I couldn't be happier with it.

BTW I didn't do it myself, as usual.

probably $2 worth of sandpaper and a can of touch up spray.

The repair looks very nice, it's undetectable. I can see the bubbling in the above pic thats right below the side molding. The blending they did looks perfect, the color's dead on, there's no distortion in the reflection or pinholes/ grater marks from filler. Glad you got it fixed

Wow, you are a genius! Too bad any more sanding would have put it through to a hole.

They had a piece cut from a donor car out west, cut out my bad part, welded and painted.

The color is a dead-on match... I'm picky as hell and can't tell anything was done.

Well, you can tell inside the wheelwell that work was done. But I am extremely happy with the job.

In my experience, pictures don't do body work justice. I'd have to see it in person to make a decision on the quality.

If you don't mind me asking, what'd they bag you to fix that?

Also, that looks like a pretty nice exhaust under your car. Mandrel bent, etc, it looks nice. No cats?

most people that see my car n person say it looks way better than the pics would lead you to believe.
I'm sure that's true with a lot of te nice Panthers here.

Pictures don't do the work justice... I can guarantee that even the pickiest person would agree they did a bang-up job. I can, however, get a few pics with my Canon. That might help.

The price for the job was... eh.... enough that you guys are all gonna e-slap me.

Oh, I do have one cat on each pipe.

Some Canon shots would be good, you really can't beat a Canon. I'm sure the bodywork wasn't cheap, but if you got a solid repair and it's what you wanted then it's worth it IMO. I had mine repainted over the summer. I stripped the car down and it still cost more than my trans rebuild for a semi-decent repaint with some bodywork. Good bodywork is pretty expensive.

Well, in that case, it was $700 for the repair, including $214 for the donor piece.

I take it this rust was something that really bothered you? I can understand paying to have it fixed (and fixed right), no matter the cost. If something really bothers me with my car, I have to fix it. I just usually fix it my self though.

When the car is sitting there, and you walk around it, that was the only rust! So yeah, having a virtually rust-free 15-year-old PA car really means something to me.
