I don't think it'd be too bad... you'd just have to raise up your air cleaner assemly with a riser, cut a hole in the hood, and MOST IMPORTANTLY find the exact setup you want.
Measure everything out first, see what size riser youd need, the dimension the hood scoop/ram air setup would be, if it would fit with the air cleaner assembly you plan on using... measure the air cleaner assembly with the new setup on the hood...
Basically go over everything about half a dozen times... atleast... get it perfect! It can be done! And you definately have to be willing to cut a hole in your hood. Just remember, you can't bondo your hood back together.1984 Ford Crown Vic LTD, The Murphmobile (RIP)

I'd search all the yards first for anything that might work... you could try summit, but theirs all just go ONTO your hood. Getting a real one, or a good one might cost more than you're willing to pay. So just watch out while price surfing... maybe some yard somewhere might have something...
I don't think it'd be a great idea driving the car during the winter tho with that kind of intake...
I take it what you're shooting for is something along the lines of this one... I know this is off a Mustang... not sure on the year.

Find one off a late 70s Trans Am, just because it'll get everyone's panties in a twist to see flaming chicken parts on a Ford
That aside, they are actually nice looking setups, and they sit backwards so no water gets directly blown into them.86 Lincoln Town Car (Galactica).

Wow, what a kawinkidink that this thread was created. I am also looking to put a hood scoop on my ma's CV for the Lightning build. This is the hood scoop that I am thinking of getting, however, I would like to see if I can find one that is closed. This car isn't going to see the garage..............ever. Here is the link for the scoop I was thinking of.
If this doesn't match up with the EFI induction I guess I will have to get a cowl induction hood.
Oh yeah, before I forget, are there any books that walk you through the process of installing fiberglass hood scoops? Like 351crayz, I would like to install this on another hood from the JY so I don't mess up the O.E. hood.

Okay, I have one thing to ask - assuming you find the right hood scoop and all, how you gonna make the air coming from above the intake go in from the side? The only way I can see is fabbing up some "dish" or "pan" that sits on top of the engine and then feeds the TB with a U-turn elbow, but then you gotta worry about the filter element...
I have the same issue pretty much, an official reproduction Boss 429 scoop bolted to my hood with holes cut under it so tis fully functional, but then there's the whole EFI stuff under it I'm really thinking of the dish/pan setup, with a regular 14" air filter for a carb in it, but I have a Townie and my whole engine bay is taller than yers, so I got more clearance above my intake to work with...
