All the 80s models have lights on the outside of the B pillar. Depends what top you had which lights it got. Full top models had different lights than half tops.

      Lights

I was needing a pair off some one, or a site to buy them off of, as I am wanting a set on the vic asa slick top...just somethin different as lights came on cars w/ tops versus a slicktop....

The coach lights were also used on Grand Marquis models. A set like on my wagon would obviously work with a slick-top sedan. I think the Grand Marquis sedans got the exact same lights, but I can't verify this.

What would be different about lights from, say, a Grand Marquis sedan versus wagon, and also versus the Town Car versions? Is there any reason why any of them couldn't be made to work?

The sedan B-pillar lights mount in the Crown molding that goes across the front of the vinyl top, so on a slicktop, there'd be nothing to mount them in. How do the B-pillar lights on a sedan mount?

The pillar lights on the Townie bolt up to the trim pieces between the doors, there are like three pieces that stack on top of each other - the raised plastic base, the wide flat vinyl strip (tis aluminum under the vinyl), and finally the thin raised vinyl strip with chrome edges. The pillar lights bolt up to the base pieces, so removal of all the vinyl trim is required beforehand. How they mount in a slicktop car - ain't got no clue, sorry.
