    Big-ass bumper guards.

I've seen a couple users here with huge-ass bumper guards on their Panthers, similar to the kind that came stock on early 80's Ford trucks. I think gabegt90 was one of these dudes, and I've already PMed him asking about it.

I can't remember who else had that kind of stuff. I want to do the same to my '88 Town Car, put something on there in the style of the older F-series bumper guards. 80's K5 Blazers also had similar style guards. I want something that's got a chrome, or even polished stainless body, with a black rubber guard strip up the middle like the two trucks I've mentioned. I'd like to go as tall as possible, but I'd like it to fit in the stock location of the OEM guards with as little modification as possible.

    Does anyone have any ideas?

Most of those are aftermarket pieces... Might check to see if jcwhitney still sells them

They don't or at least didn't a few years ago. Your best bet is finding a member who has a pair to sell, or snagging a pair from ebay.

I have a pair I might part with in exchange for a police style push bumper...

My question isn't where to get these bumper guards. I'm looking for input on which ones might fit my car with the least modification. I'd also like some people who have done this before give me some input on what, if any, modifications were required.

I want a style just like this: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/CHEVY...spagenameZWD1V
Even taller that those if I can find any, but if I can't then oh well.

        Any input is appreciated.

Those are excactly like the stock Ford ones, usually ordered for Police cars, since they were before alot of agencies bought the push style bars... Find a set in the junk yard, or on e-bay.... Like mrltd said, CALL JC Whitiney and see if they can get them... Alot of times they have stuff that isn't in the catalog.... I'll look locally for some for you in the junkyards around here... since all of the local P.D.'s ordered them on their cars until 92, when they went to push bumpers....

I like the larger extended bumper guards. They're so badass. Didn't take any modding, but they don't fit the trim on anything other than a Vic if they are off an Interceptor. Don't know how it'll work with a Townie.

I saw those on a UConn work truck today (mid 90's F150). Someone had modified them to fit the contour of the bumper. Those are pretty nice, I might like a set of those...

Does anyone know where I can find bumper guards like what MrMarquis has? They look very similar to the ones that were available on mid-70's Ford trucks... but I think they might be even bigger than those. MrMarquis, are yours for sale?

Nope, sorry mang. Mine are not for sale. I just bought those back in June, and they are a permanant addition to the car. And I got them off of the For Sale section of these forums, only other place I would know to look is a junkyard.
