    Vinyl Top

ok, so I'm considering this again...I love the look of a black vinyl top for MAGNA since I will have to replace it before long...but I started thinking about it and I didnt like the halfness of the stock top in black...but, I did like the look of it going all the way to the windshield and down the A pillars....
so, I drew up some pics to see how it would look....and I gotta say, there is no angle that I DONT like...
my dislike before was the side and front angle views....but with the top going all the way, I really like it.

what do you guys think...are you with me on this?

Looks good. I'm not a fan of vinyl tops (totally my opinion; means nothing), but if you're going to have one, I like the full vinyl top rather than a half vinyl. Black is nice on your car too.

      Eh.....

I'm for the "landau" I think it emasculates the car be effectively elongating the front end.

      and Colin

As for the black top, I think it would work on your car.

It's a great idea and it's another thing that I want to do to my car when I can spare the change. If you go through with it, or even get a quote, lemme know how much it's gonna cost you.

Are you going to go with vinyl? I was going to go with black cloth.

I'd go black cloth instead of vinyl. I think it would look a bit nicer.

I like the top Colin. Black cloth would be great, but how hard would it be to maintain? I recall a new two door Town Car my Dad brought home when his Mark VI was in the shop. It was a red car with a tan cloth top. Looked really nice. I believe it was a two-tone as well, but I can't remember the second color.

Man... I don't know .... so far I'm not digging it, but of course it'll look different in real life. Careful selection of fabric texture and color can probably keep it from looking all ghetto pimpmobile or something, like all those city people who have to have velveteen fake convertible tops on their '90 Buick Lesabres. Have you tried any other colors, like maybe something close to the gray in your 2-tone paint?

well, maybe not do vinyl per say, but some sort of cloth material...but the main thing is not the materail, its how the black looks with the personallity of the car....
does it flow or does it stick out it a bad way? like a sore thumb...
