Sanding Non-Sandable Primer??????

Can this be done? This is the situation; I got the body filler all smoothed on the pass. post of the Ranger I got. I masked everything off on that side and applied primer. The first problem was a fly landed on the primer just as it was got tacky. I wasn't sure what to do so I plucked it off, which left small craters. I figured that I would let it dry and wet sand it; but when I got into the house I realized that I bought the wrong can of primer. It says on the can that sanding non- sandable primer can result in gouging (or it lifting off of the surface) the primer. Is there any way of getting around this, or do I have to somehow strip it off and start all over again? Thanks for any help that you can give me.

Can't you spray over it with the right primer? Then sand that...

Just sand it off. Shouldn't take much to sand it off. Yeah that is most likely a sealer that you should have all the bodywork and straighting done before you apply as opposed to a primer surfacer that you can sand it and it fills imperfections.

Thanks Zwack, I just lightly sanded it down and re-primered the surface. There are imperfections on the surface, but I am going to let it slide since this is a temporary fix. I am going to post pics of the bondo job in my Ranger DD thread in this section. Oh yeah, I just noticed your sig pic and that wagon is looking good Zwack! I shoulda had you work on the Ranger.
