For those of you running hub caps

Just thought id take apart one of my old hub caps to polish it up to see how it would look clean, since im going to clean them all and sell them on kijiji, any way here is how it looks
This is what i started with,

All the spokes are out ,and started cleaning the center:

    the spokes:

    the finished probuct

The only tools i needed was a 8 mm socket to take the middle piece out, then just pulled up on the spokes and pulled them off, used my buffing mechine to polish the spokes up, and used good wax to clean the rest, to put it back together is pretty easy once you get the hang of it,

    finaly!
a before/after thread of those hubs.
we had those hubs on our white 88 TC...I cleaned them up and it looked beautiful!
I didn't realize you could dis-mantel it like that...I was doing it the sucker way
but yea, those are nice hubs, they look great on Boxes...almost better than the Turbines..I dare say.
    good job Dave!

what did you use to polish those up?

I'd do that but it's kinda pointless when you live on a gravel road--they'd be dirty again in a few days anyway.

        Those look really nice, though!

I did that to mine too, looked great. And if you wax it all up good it tends to clean up easier when they did get dirty.

            exactly!
once they're cleaned and polished/waxed, they clean up real easy.

              Wow,Shiny!

I did the same thing to mine when I first got the car,and waxed them, lasted for a few months before they got nasty again.I was thinking about detailing them again awhile back, but I'm gonna be buying some new chrome rims soon,so no point in bothering.
