I understand where your coming from with that one,and I know It will never be able to be repaired (which is fine because I will be having it recovered anyway),but I've never had It dry the Vinyl out or make it Slimy. It actually keeps the top pretty nice when Applied once a week.
It hasn't let me down yet so i don't really wanna take a chance on another product that I'm not 100% sure about, since my top is still in good shape.

as far as tire shines go...gels are the way to go.
I've used a lot of different tire shines..
Meguiars High Gloss High Endurance(purple stuff) is good and smells nice
but I've found Armor-All's Xtreme Shine/Long lasting stuff(orange bottle) to las just as long(if not longer) and give a little higher gloss...so I think I'm gonna keep using that.
Discalimer:
I'm not a big supporter of Armor-All, I have just found those 2 products(wheel cleaner/tire shine) to be excellent.sigpic

Try this....
The new Turtle Wax ICE quick detailer is amazing. It's about 8 bucks at Advance Auto but I put the stuff on and it brought out a shine like I had never seen. People on the street were looking because the shine was intense in the sun. Cool stuff.
I also use Stoner More Shine tire dressing. Gives a wet look for weeks but you still need to wipe the application with a tire sponge a bit or you get the dreaded fling off from the tires. It's a little hard to apply becasue the spray can spread onto the car body pretty easy. Pretty good products. I know the gels were the best but when Meguires went to the high endurance gloss it turned to watery muck and no longer stays on well. Can't get the original formula anymore because the pimps with the metallic green paint and 22's on their cars complained it wasn't shiny enough. Oh well.:hippy:cruiser

hmm...I've been meaning to try that Meguiars NXT wax...I hear it's really good stuff.
but I've have good luck with the Gold Class and the Carnuba Wax in the 3-step process.
I'll wait until July and then give it a clay and wax with something different..I'll prolly try that NXT Wax.
btw, anyone ever try Black Majic Quik Detailer?
I was gonna try it, but I love the smell of Meguiars Quik Detailer
it was the same price, so I'll prolly get it for next time.sigpic

Yea, that NXT stuff is amazing.
I only bought it because it was on sale for $10 at Meijer one week... and I prefer paste over liquid wax... so I figured I'd try it.
By far the best thing I've used.1984 Ford Crown Vic LTD, The Murphmobile (RIP)
