Went to derust gas tank straps and found hidden rust

Rust sucks. Even more so when you are not expecting to find it.

How do you like using a band file?

    I love them!

yeah thats not an uncommon spot for rust to hide. I've known a few people who went to replace tanks in various cars and found that there was nothing for the strap to attach to anymore. One friend had the tank fall out of a very rusty Fox Couger from that. They put it up on the lift and found there was just nothing but swiss cheese and sadness back there, and throughout the entire car. It went to the scrap yard.

Does your car have a Reader's Ride thread? Might be a good idea to make one if not, that way all your progress can be documented in one place instead of many.

A really pretty job with those braided lines! Are those engine side fittings self made or off the shelf adapters?
