yeah thats not an uncommon spot for rust to hide. I've known a few people who went to replace tanks in various cars and found that there was nothing for the strap to attach to anymore. One friend had the tank fall out of a very rusty Fox Couger from that. They put it up on the lift and found there was just nothing but swiss cheese and sadness back there, and throughout the entire car. It went to the scrap yard.86 Lincoln Town Car (Galactica).
