look inside your backup and turn signal lenses... most likely the reflective material is deteriorated.
The backup lights only have a shiney paint coating on them, I was able to replicate this with mexichrome spray paint.
The front lenses actually have a mirror like coating on them that would cant reproduce. New lenses with this coating in good shape will help too.

In the 5-10 seconds they are on, VERY COLD. When I took that pic they were on for over a minute, felt zero temperature change.

I have been using those bulbs in both Vics for quite some time. They are an inexpensive, easy, and beneficial addition.

I've been meaning to try these myself. I'm also curious as to how well they'd perform in a cornering lamp as well.
